When ready to submit, follow the 'Submission Instructions', including completing a submission form. Articles will be selected by AMSJ editorial staff on the basis of the criteria outlined on the 'Selection Criteria' page. Please see the 'Review Process' page for specific details on the stages of review and revision for original research articles, review articles, and case reports. Who Can Submit? Any current medical student studying at one of Australia's 21 medical schools is eligible to submit to the AMSJ. Australian medical or health science students (e.g. medical science, health and exercise science, pharmacy, physiotherapy, speech pathology) or students in other medically-related fields (e.g. biotechnology) are welcome to submit articles with a clear clinical relevance. Letters are the only submission type where the author need not be a student. Submission Sources Submission types accepted are original research articles, review articles, case reports, features (conference reports, elective reports, essays), book reviews, and letters/news (please see the 'Submission Types' page for details). Submissions could potentially arise from the following sources:
To submit to the AMSJ, please follow the instructions on the 'Submission Instructions' page and complete a submission form, ensuring that the general guidelines on the 'Submission Guidelines' page as well as the specific guidelines on the 'Submission Types' page are adhered to. Following the close of submissions for an issue, submissions will be short-listed by the editorial staff, and authors will be notified whether or not their submissions has been successful. Short-listing is NOT a guarantee of eventual publication. For full details of the revision and review process, please see the 'Review Process' page. It is the author's responsibility to cooperate fully and promptly with any request of the editorial staff during the revision and review process. Please only contact the AMSJ regarding the status of a submissions if you have not received any correspondence for more than one month following the closing date for submissions for a particular issue. The revision and review process may take several months. In the initial selection phase, editorial staff will be blinded to the identity of submitting students. |
